Keywords

To perform a search, enter one keyword into the textboxes labeled "Keyword." Up to three key words can be searched at a time (type one into each textbox). Keywords are not case sensitive.

Operations

When searching more than one keyword, select the desired operation(s). An "AND" search means you choose to search for papers that contain both keywords in the selected search location. For example, searching "curcumin" AND "zinc" and selecting "Figures/Tables" and "Paper Title" will return papers that have both the terms "curcumin" and "zinc" in the figure/table titles, descriptions, or paper title. The following papers will be returned with this search:

    1. Any paper that contains the keyword "curcumin" in the paper title and the keyword "zinc" in one or more figure/table titles or descriptions.

    2. Any paper that contains the keyword "zinc" in the paper title and the keyword "curcumin" in one or more figure/table titles or descriptions.

    3. Any paper that contains the keyword "zinc" and the keyword "curcumin" in the paper title.

    4. Any paper that contains the keyword "zinc" in one or more figure/table titles or descriptions and the keyword "curcumin" in one or more figure/table titles or descriptions.

An "OR" operation will return papers that contain any of the keywords searched in any of the locations selected. If three keywords are searched, two operations must be selected. If the first operation is "AND" and the second operation is "OR", the search is ("Keyword1" AND "Keyword2") OR "Keyword3." This will return papers that that have either both "Keyword1" AND "Keyword2" in the selected locations, papers that contain only "Keyword3" in the selected locations, and papers that contain all three keywords in the selected locations. If the first operation is "OR" and the second operation is "AND", the search is ("Keyword1" OR "Keyword2") AND "Keyword3." Papers that have "Keyword1" AND "Keyword3", "Keyword2" AND "Keyword3", or all three keywords in the selected locations will be returned.

Search Type

Each keyword can be searched as either a wildcard search or as the exact phrase. This can be decided by selecting either "Wildcard" or "Exact" at the dropdown list labeled "Search type" next to the corresponding keyword. The "Wildcard" search matches the keyword, even if it is found within another phrase. For example, if "Amyloid" is searched and "Wildcard" is selected for the search type, the phrases "Amyloid", "Amyloid-beta", "Amyloid-β42", etc. will be matched. If "Exact" is selected for the search type, only the exact keyword "Amyloid" will be matched.
